To update since my last posting, we did get to go to the new dog park the other night. It was lots of fun. I chased a tennis ball in the grass and even into the lake. Whitney sniffed around with some other dogs and then laid in the grass for the remainder of the time.

Today, my sister and I opened up a box of thumbtacks that were left out on the coffee table. However, these were not fun toys. They are plastic, my favorite, but they also have a little nail-like object on one end. Glad I didn't swallow one!... I hope.

Yesterday, we got to go visit grandma and grandpa Gatchalian and Tita Elen in Tucson. On the way there, we were so excited to get to sit in the back seat of the car instead of all the way in the back. I got to put my front paws on the console up in the front at watch everything through the front windshield... my favorite!

Whitney and I went for a 2 mile run through the UofA campus which was a lot of fun. We saw some other dogs, but we were so tired and focused on running, so we didn't get a chance to stop for a sniff. After our run, we took a nice nap and then played around the house.

Today, Sunday, we spent most of the day lounging with our mom and recuperating from our trip. I wasn't really hungry for dinner tonight, so Whitney ate most of mine along with her own. I'm hoping we can still go to the new dog park tonight even though it's getting late, so wish me luck!

Woof! (Hello!)

This is a blog about the daily lives of 2 doggies in Gilbert, Az... Whitney and Bella.

I (Whitney) was born in mid-December, 2003 in a redneck neighborhood in Tucson, Az. I am a Border Collie/Shepherd mix dog. At the age of 8 weeks, I was taken to the pound and then adopted that same day by my parents. My mom says she chose me because I was the only pup in the litter who had short hair and who was all black (the rest of my brothers and sisters were black and white - traditional Border Collie markings). But I think it's because she knew that I am really a kid in a dog's body; I swear I am!

My little sister, Bella, was born in Queen Creek, Az on a ranch on July 1, 2005. Bella is a Queensland Heeler/Australian Shepherd, plus a little Border Collie somewhere in there. She was given to us by one of my mom's co-workers at her old job. Bella is an okay little sister, but she wants to play fight way too much for my likings. I prefer to watch tv or sit and stare out the window. Bella, on the other hand, is your typical doggie dog - constantly trying to play fetch with any person who's around, even strangers!

In general, our other hobbies include: frequent visits to the dog park, sleeping on the tile by the front door when our parents are gone, digging in the rocks outback, looking out the window in the morning on our parents' bed, watching Animal Planet, and playing tug-o-war with each other.
